I havent read all the instalments on this topic, but I have a 72 D100 daily driver that i put a new master cylinder on and then the calipers seemed to be sticking. Turned out after following the system backward the MC had to come off and the adjustment on the booster turned in. MC back on, problem solved.

Dave,
Unless your friend is sure the shoes are installed correctly you might pull a drum and observe shoe placement. More than once I've found secondary shoes on the front which causes easy lockup also.
