Very low-profile tires, ie, 35-40-45 series.

Subject: the giant wheels geometry

I was at a garage sale and the girl had a set of these big wheels. The
price was right and they were in beautiful shape but they looked so
huge. they were a 17 inch variety and the side to side spacing (
meaning backspacing and offset) was perfect for my 64 cuda but I just
couldn't see how you could turn the front wheels. It seems like the
car would have risen up about three or four inches. How do guys put
these on the older cars?? Please I don't want to start a shooting
war here about the "hot wheels" look controversy, i'm not that fond of
it myself on the older iron. I am just inquiring about how they deal
with the geometry issues. Seems u would need to suck the suspension up
into the car a few inches to avoid looking like a 4x4, but then that
makes the turning of the wheels even worse. And what about bounce up
rear wheel contact to the inner rear quarter skins/wheel tubs too.
