Keep in mind the Torker will work on the
street, but low and mid range RPM torque is poor compared to a dual plane.
Depends on what you're gonna use it for. Be
careful buying intakes online. No way to check for stripped threads, cracks,
back yard porting, milling, etc. Most times there is no return on these, and for
a little more than two hundred, a new one can be had.

Subject: Re: Quick intake survey
I love the Torker and have run them on several street engines, including
one 318 that was totally stock except for the intake and carb, and been very
happy with it. I know that goes against the theory, but that's my
experience. They are typically available pretty cheap on eBay, not to
mention that you already have one. Downside with any taller intake as
most single planes are, you have linkage and fuel line mods to consider, as
well as hood clearance. Edlebrock does make the Performer for RB engines
and that would probably be the easiest swap. Bill &

I'm gonna ditch the heavy cast iron intake and go
with an aluminium. My question is which is better.......single or dual
plane. Engine is a mildly built 440 in my 65 Polara. I've
already got a plane that my buddy was using. I believe its an Eddy
torquer. It's been like three years since I've laid eyes on it, so it
might be a different model, but still an Eddy. I've never owned a car
long enough to consider this. But this car ain't going nowhere any
time soon. I really do love this car. I'm also on a bit of a
budget. I've seen some intakes on ebay for a little over $100.
But if y'all think my single plane is good enough, then I'll stick with
that. Thanx Cory
