My Dad used to sell these things back in the '70's. They are excellent for analyzing car problems from that era and earlier if you knew how to use it. In fact I used to use those Sun Analyzers back in the '70's and early 80's. The trick is knowing how to read the sine wave signals of each of the cylinders displayed on the scope. I am not sure if could remember how. But a bad signal would stand out, and there were various reasons to have a bad signal. I remember diagnosing a rod bearing going out by being able to cancel the spark plug firing to that cylinder.
