Re: Car won't start:(

Pull a spark plug wire off, have somebody crank it, see if you get a nice spark when you get it close to a ground like the exhaust manifold.  You may have to stick a nail or screwdriver in the boot of the spark plug wire so you can get the metal (the inside of the wire) close to the ground.  This will verify spark. It can also zap you.  It is harmless but it's normal to happen with this test.  1.. gas...you got good,  2. Spark, do you have spark?  3. if yes, timing?  Did the dist turn enough that timing is so off is won't run?  Timing chain fail?  etc.  If no spark then the ballast restior, coil, points closed or worn out, condenser failed (if it has those things in it) Factory car has them, electronic ignitions won't.   Dist cap?  loose, broken?  Rotor in side the cap, broken? dirty so bad it won't run or give spark?

If timing right, spark is good, gas and air, it will run, unless all the rings are in the bottom of the pan and you have no compression....I doubt that happened,  It's probably something very simple and easy to fix.
