Re: 1962 727 question

What was your question? You asked about Chinese parts or using used OEM parts. Then said you would never use Chinese parts. When advised there are other better alternatives to used parts. You stated the shop you are having your transmission repaired at is the best in the area and has been in business for many years. So why are you asking people you don't know and with varying levels of mechanical skills these questions. If you trust your shop ask them and have them do the work. Remember a stock 426 Hemi was rated at 426 hp. So stock parts will work for you. There are some tricks to improve oiling and shifting if that is what you want.

My car would not see a track, unless just for fun.  I will drive it daily, on the streets and freeway mostly.  I want the car to be fun and throw you back when I step on it.  So HP will be in the 305-360 range  Probably best to think of it as a 1962 413 stock motor for HP and TQ  So nothing really special or outrageous.  My car is a cruiser boat.
