Aren't we being a little hard on this guy, Jacob is on the learning curve and from I can tell he is motivated and willing and that is 1/2 the battle. Guys starting out are listening to what experienced guys are trying to tell them and in 99% of cases something
gets lost in translation.
I have no doubt the engine guy knows what he is doing but a lot of times the experienced people don't explain things correctly, its not lack of knowledge its more they don't fully appreciate how much the novice doesn't know and yes, I do know the blueprinting
process very well and feel very comfortable with my engines, must be doing something right as I am still porting a bunch of heads and intakes and just recently gave up building 727's because Rhoades cleaned out my shop, LOL!!!

I'm not sure I would want to take any of my motors to this

tolerances/spec's closer to the motor requirements. And the designers of the motor sure didn't have piston slap envisioned when they designed the motor. As Herb said, plus it would seem to me the rings are not sealing proprtly and possibility of
blow-by. jm2cw.

I have blueprinted several engines and have not had piston slap on any of them. Slap = wear and egg shaped cylinders. Just saying! Maybe they do it differently now days.
Do you know what is entailed to blueprint an engine?

Subject: 440 noise
Thought I should report my findings. The loud noise I was hearing was indeed the rockers hitting cover. Solved that. The other sounds I hear is piston slap. I brought it to the local Mopar race guy/guru. He helped build the motor. Just said it was piston
slap, the motor Was blueprinted an everything with a little more clearance for more horsepower. He demonstrated his dart race car and showed me his pistons in the block. Said it was normal and no reason to worry and its a very good strong motor. Makes me feel
relieved!
