Well he replaced all wiring with a new engine compartment harness that's for all that stuff. I have a 45 amp reg on there now, the mechanical type. I see online a lot of people put the later model alts on but put newer solid state post 70s regulator on there for it to work right. My gauge is always moving until I give it gas it goes right to center where it's supposed to be. As soon as I give it has that's usually when the music goes out. Especially when I have lights on and stuff. But if I keep gas on or driving it doesn't. After doing research I found he has 100a alt (for sound system and stuff) but the old type regulator. So I'm trying to see if the newer type is for 100a. I know later years the amperage was increased on the cars due to more electronics between put in from factory. At least that's what I'm getting from all par and other Mopar information sites. I got new pigtail coming from napa was only couple bucks. Reg is only 15 bucks. Just wanna make sure it's enough for it. Since u can only get mechanical up too 60a. Dad told me to check amp draw with everything on and I could always change alt if it's less. But I'm sure with everything plus system it'll be more, no wonder sub amp was turned off. Anyways, if any of y'all are aware of how much amp they are let me know!
