My dad, long gone now told me to put a qt of trans fluid in the oil and run it for a few miles then change out the oil. It helped clean out the build up and quited down tappets.

I've do it a few times and it seems to work. Good luck.

Called racer brown, said its hydraulic lifters from his records. Said synthetic without zinc will tear up camshaft and syn oil on flat tappets isn't advised. Might change it and see if I see I difference, I was running 20-50 Val syn since it had the additives, might go with 20-50 val conventional and see what happens maybe I'll see a difference. Comments? Concerns?
