Not too sure about SB stuff but if you want to keep your push button, and are swapping the 318 for a BB, you will need to get a BB cable shift tranny. Keep the SB tranny though cuz you will need the tail shaft for mating the drive shaft. I went through this process a couple years ago. If you want to know more, PM me and we'll chat. about conflicts (such as a 360 having external balance, as opposed to the
internal balance on a 318/340)? And will they mate without an adaptor to
the SB727 push-button transmission?
Will a 383/400/413/440 mate up with the SB 727 transmission with an
adaptor, or would I need to find a good BB 727? Any conflicts with the LA
vs A engine mating up?
It would be simple to throw in a later LA engine, but I don't want to lose
the push-buttons.
Thanks,
Larry
