Just a long piece of window washer hose will work and you wont take a chance of falling into the fan trying to get your head down to the screwdriver!!!

Can you isolate the noise to a particular spot?  If you don't have a
stethoscope, you can hold a screwdriver handle to your ear and touch
different spots on the engine with the tip.
