Re: Motor trouble

is he using a mechanical pump or electric pump? The two problems could be related or separate.Fuel is a issue if the mufflers are close to the fuel lines, the spark is  another problem, mrmopartech

It wasn't runnin for long enough to get hot really, it was just literally a min. I have a feeling it's spark issue. But I'm not sure if he has resistor cause of te ignition he has.

As for the fuel system, you have a over heating fuel line and carb, thats pushing the gas back into the tank.If the exhaust cross over is not block on the intake, instant vapor lock, and the carb boils the gas away.As for the spark, check for burnt wire or blown fuses,or bad ballast resistor,or wiring, mrmopartech

I went by a buddy's today he's building a 65 coronet and put in a 440. We fired it up, let it idle for a little while, while we played with his other car. We turned it off and went back a little while later, and nothing. Turns over, but it seems like its not getting gas or spark. We don't smell gas when we try to start, carb looked dry, so he poured a tiny bit in to see if it was fuel issue, no start. We got tired of messing with it so we pushed it back into the garage, anyone have an idea? It has an electronic ignition that's pretty much brand new, you can dial in rev limiter blah blah. No problems before, just out of nowhere.
