1962 Newport setback

Well I got a phone call today, it was the paint people, they refunded my debit card. They can't make my paint. I can choose one that is close, but I don't want to do it, I didn't like the ones that are "close". I'm glad I didn't buy the new interior yet, that would have not been funny. So I'm back to square one with it.
Eric Hayes, the man doing my chrome and stainless work is pushing me to paint it the same color, and doing the inside back to org. It old him it won't happen, I won't pay 4k for seats. The car is 98% apart, there is no reason to keep it a color I just can't stand. He told me with the modifications I'm doing there is no way my car would win any trophies (and I wanted to win one or two for fun) as it's not original, not really a street rod, not really a custom, it's just a mut.
The mods I'm doing are paint, brakes (done), upholstery, exhaust, back up cam, stereo, remote power locks, a console, and maybe, one day, the motor. Even if I painted it the same color and did the seats back the way they are, it's still not an original, it's still a custom with the electronics alone. I'm having to spend $800 for the tail lights re-chroming and I already paid $2000 for the stainless repairs and polishing and I am thinking at this point I can remove all the side molding, find it different tail lights and sell mine (that would be about 600 or so just for the bezels) and make is custom all over, screw it. At the rate this thing is going I may as well paint it flat black, let my friend pin strip the hell out it and just drive it all ugly and rat rod.
Blah, just not happy about the paint. I can do it in copper, and keep the inside the same colors. But right now I just don't want to even think about it. The sub frame and motor and trans come home tomorrow. I think I will just play with the drive train and leave the rest of it till it's ready to paint and choose then. Maybe I'll be in a better mood by then.
