I know the '65s 318s were attached to a 727. Pretty sure they were identical to the ones on the B/RB engines expect for the obvious different bell housing bolt pattern. The small block unit was call a 727-A and the big blocks were a 727-B. Seems to me that was cast in raised letters on the bell housing.

If I'm not mistaken, almost all 318's came attached to a 904. HD Police, taxis, etc may have come with a 727, but most others should be a 904, especially the newer ones (1977).

Just curious what you're putting it into, seeing as none of our cars came with that particular engine. And yeah, $300 is a good price. Especially if it runs good and is attached to a 727.
