But I really wanted to mess with my engine to learn more, now I might be glad I did. I pulled the heads and most of the waterjacket holes were completley plugged with rusty crud. In the head side and in the block. I pushed some out and left some for photos where you can see they are plugged. Some crud went down into the block, some in the head. Do I need to flush the block somehow or the heads? I don't want this stuff just filling up the head water holes again. Also, in the pics you can see how the factory gasket appears to block some of the water jacket holes in half. That doesn't seem right unless they are contolling flow? anyhow.. below are pics... most likely they will show up as links as I can't seem to post an actual pic yet.
