If you car has the power booster, I see no reason to remove it. Your brakes will work for 2 or 3 pushes of the pedal. You can try that out out by running your car, then turn it off see how many time they press easily. Do that in the driveway. Your car can be parked for this test. You will never loose the brakes due to the brake booster failing. You just have to press harder to make it stop.
My car does not have the power booster. I wish it did, I could keep the master cyl I bought. But I have to get another one. If you do go with the AAJ kit like I did, get your master cyl from him. He still can get new ones and not rebuilt ones. They will last a lot longer than the others and work as intended.

I'm using the AAJ template to convert my '62 Newport next week to
disc. I thought I would go with a dual m/c with no boost. I figured
some day for whatever reason the engine is going to stall out and
every car I've ever had that had boosted brakes pretty much lost all
brake pressure when the engine died. So, I thought the non-boosted
would be safer.
Or, is that wrong or will I gain enough with the power booster I
should go with it?
Thanks!
