Thanks. I agree there are many opinions about rebuild versus new. For example, a guy I know had some leaf springs rebuilt about 10 years ago on his Dart and they are still holding up. He used a shop here that I believe uses heat as part of the re-arching, which apparently makes a difference in longevity and helps resist that "set" reversal. Or it is a good marketing argument made by vendors. ;)

Anyone know if the Mopar Performance springs are still controversial? There was buzz a while ago about them being made poorly.

Thanks,
Gary H.

Gary,I have a very good friend that runs a frame shop and his theory is to
always "replace" when ever possible.Once a spring takes a "set" it will
always go back to that.If you can look around for a good frame shop and see
if they can get you want in a new set of springs if possible.

Oops. That should have been re-arching leaf springs / rebuilding them.
Sorry for the typo in the mail itself.... > -------Original

reaching leaf springs? Specifically, tell the shop to go back to stock
specs or to make the leaf springs so that the rear of the Mopar is about
 1/2" higher than stock? Or? > >
