Send me a pic if you can! I started playing with the idea of rebuilding the motor I got...prolly gonna just reuse pistons, rods, heads etc. Just rering and new bearings. Thought about putting that comp cams xtreme energy 268 lift I believe...that way I can keep it pretty stock and have a slightly rough idle. Change oil pump, now would anyone suggest anything else? I figure w the rebuild I'd just go with the edelbrock carb, I'm used to them and can adjust them and it'd be easier for me, hopefully if I get the lokar linkage I won't have any problems...I had to rig for a week to get stuff to work on my el camino. I'm waiting on a call back from a machine shop here in lc that can give me a price on installing cam bearings and honing..
Sent from my iPhone I do believe I have a dual plane stock '66 383 4bl manifold. Dodger can probably verify that. It appears to be in very good shape and I don't need it. The number on it is 2806301. I got it in trade, sort of, for our work on the '66 Plymouth, 5 ea 14" wheels and tires off LeRoar and a new oil pan I donated. I doubt it was a very good trade :-) It weighs about 40lbs according to the bathroom scale. Would $75 plus shipping be reasonable??? If anybody is interested just let me know. rlkinsley@xxxxxxxxx

That is called a torker and is good for hi end. Makes the engine come on strong at medium to high rpm' and really works great for top speeds. If you want a good manifold for that 383 get one that is a dual plane and sits fairly low down in the engine.
