RE: Courtesy lenses!

Yes, these are the lenses I have. The outside housing is plastic and looks like it's silver/grey in color. Mine are just dis-colored, not broken so I wanted to replace the center part and paint the outer housing..

Thanks,

The early lenses are mostly one piece and are "chrome" plated around the outer edge.
They also have a aluminum concave disc in the center (see photo).
The early lenses appeared in all the factory photos.

They cannot be restored because the old, brittle plastic usually falls apart during the process of re-chroming.
If your original plastic is smooth (not rough and chalky) it may be restoreable but the platers cannot guarantee it.

The later lenses were two piece with a separate aluminum bezel and were used for a several model years.
Those are the reproduction lenses that are being sold by many Mopar vendors.

I was lucky enough to find two early NOS lenses in the boxes -- very cool lenses!

Bill,

I'm guessing you have an early '64 build.  Those lenses were different than the later '64s.  They're fancier and hard to find.  I have those, too, but they are in bad shape (one is in pieces).  The "newer" style lenses (more plain) don't line up with the earlier ones (the screw holes, that is).  I got new lenses from Joe, and that's when I found all of this out.  At that time (2 years ago), he didn't have any of the older style lenses -and no source for them.  But don't hesistate to contact him.  If you do find any of that style, please let us know.  There are others of us here looking for them.

Try Joe Suchy. He is listed on the 62-65  swap meet page.

Thanks,
