Thanks again.  Guess I missed the "E" 1968 model year on your first post.
You're right about who knows what happens to a car over time.  My '63
has a '68 engine and rearend, and a 64 transmission, and small bits
and pieces from who knows what out of my spare parts pile over the
years.  Atleast I can pass that information on to the next owner years
from now.
