Brakes stuck [was Re: Welcome New Member - 1964 Dodge 440]

Put the car on jack stands. I would use a brake adjustment tool and rotate the star wheel of each wheel to reduce the shoe pressure on the drum. You may have to first spray some rust penetrant on the adjuster threads. Tap on the drum with a hammer then try to move the drum back and forth. You can put a big screwdriver between the threads to use as a lever point.

If you start with the front drums you'll probably feel better. The rear drums are sometimes stubborn to remove in the best of times: i.e., even a platoon of hammer-pounding Mopar mechanics face fierce competition form the rear drums. :)

Or put the car on the ground in neutral with the e-brake off and hook up a tow strap and pull the car as Mike suggests. Sometimes that "pops" the drum free from the shoe.

Thanks,
Gary H.
