Re: Jacking safely

Walt...I used to own a '65 Valiant convertible...and your Valiant is definitely welcome here!!

Re; jacking...If you want to raise both front wheels at once, center the floor jack under the "K-Member" at the front of the car. Do not use the engine's oil pan as a lift point, which is near the K-member.
To raise the rear tires together, position your floor jack underneath the center of the rear axle (differential).

I have also gone ahead and attached  2 pics of where the factory reinforced the rocker areas of the convertible (only), for your information.

Subject: Jacking safely

Hi all.  I'm a new member to this group.  I realize my '65 Valiant convertible is a little
out of the scope of this group,  but she is a mopar!

This is my very first vintage convertible car and I'm a little nervous about the correct/safe/no frame tweak
method of jacking it up.   I'm limited to using a floor jack.  Ok to do one corner at a time
using the usual 4 lifting points from the shop manual?

Thanks for any help with my goofy question.

Walt
