Re: 413

One way to find out about the rotation issue because it is a marine engine is to use a breaker bar and rotate the crank and see which way the points turn. If it is counter clock wise then you should have no problem. You will probably need to change the water pump as it looks different than a car water pump. Measure the pilot hole in the block and the torque converter to see if it will fit....If it is a 413 or 426 you will be able to tell by the boss on the block to the right of the distributor if there is no boss in that position then look to the left of the distributor for a boss. If there is a boss there then you have a 361 or 383.....

P.S,. If you can somehow contact some one from Keith Black they might have some information for you as they were the manufacturers of marine motors for Chrysler.

Good Day!

I've found a complete 413 locally, block casting 2205697-3, from a boat.  The price is right, and I've been told it was a good running engine, rebuilt not too long ago,  prior to being pulled from the boat (of course I'll check it out well if I decide to go for it). Here it is....

Kijiji: 413 Chrysler engine

I'm considering grabbing it to put in my 1964 Windsor, just wondering other than exhaust manifolds, proper mounts and accessories would there be any real issues bolting this in?

Would my 727 (behind my existing 383) "bolt up"?

Any insight would be appreciated!

Jay
