Re: T-bar install refresher course

I found this in one of my books:performance handling for classic
Mopars, by Tom Chondran- "..torsion bars must never be swapped side to
side. The hex ends are offset in mirror image left and right. A bar
on the wrong side will not bring the car up to ride height within the
limits of the adjuster. There is no problem however with flipping the
bars end for end."
So in other words there is no front or rear to a bar, just a left
or right. I assume L means drivers side and R means passengers side.
That's what my book says. It seems sort of contradictory: yes the
bars supposedly only twist under compression in one direction, and
another in rebound, but then how is it you can flip them front/back,
wouldnt that kind of negate the L/R thing?!!. I will dig more and
find a second opinion. There might be something in my old direct
Connection Chassis manual.
PS- yes I know of the old slant 6 dragstrip trick, but this is not a
drag car, just a street machine.
