I may be wrong, but I did not think that the 413 was an optional engine in the plymouths,,,,, just a guess, but am thinking that you will be able to build your clone 426 cheaper by using a 440 block, the pistons for 413 or 426 are way higher than the ones for a 440, and everyone knows that there is no replacement for cubic inches when it comes to the final HP,,,,,, as a note, there is not a thing wrong with using your 413 block if you wish,,,,,,,,

I am in Austin, Tx. Recently I was able to pick up a 1964 Plymouth Sport Fury that needs everything! It's all there and all original with a factory V8. Build date is Feb 26 '64 at Lynch Road. It has a '63 dated 413 in it which I am assuming may well be the original engine.
Soon I intend to do a 426 'max wedge' style build.
Should I use the originality of the 413 which has the correct shared casting number for a 413/426 for '64 ( although pass car not max perf. ) OR use my 1969 440 HP2 block and go with displacement and parts convenience?
Really, at the moment I could go either way!
