Re: Window weatherstripping

What I had from Kramer and/or Suchy  was a flat piece of fabric like weatherstripping.  You U-shaped it and put it in the glass channel. I think I used a piece of wood or window glass to force it into the corners.  Held in by adhesive, maybe a 3M product.  It appears to me that the original stuff was held in by pinching over the edge of the metal at the top of the channel - don't know how you could duplicate that effort.

If this works, you’ll see a photo of my wind wing assembly.  The long strut goes all the way down inside the door and has  weatherstripping  in the channel that guides and protects the side window glass. You can’t see the actual weatherstripping channel, but could if you looked down from the top. I purchased what is supposed to be the correct weatherstripping packaged of “Cat Whiskers” from Kramers, but can’t figure out what is supposed to go inside that channel, so sent an email to the manufacturer of Cat Whiskers.

I’d like to know how you guys deal with this weatherstripping stuff. If you have restored a car like mine, I’d REALLY appreciate knowing what materials you got, where you got them, how you applied them.
