I usually adjust the brakes partially when installing the drums, I keep
adjusting them out until I feel the drag when installing , the final adjustment
should be done after some pressure can be applied so as to seat all the parts in
to their prospective places, yes the brake fluid will gravity feed and remove
most of the air from the lines,,,,,, it is not a fast deal, will take several
hours to bleed down to the cylinders, a vacuum pump will do the same job in a
few minutes
