Re: Throttle Kickdown Linkage

I am interested in following this. I heard about when you were going to the museum, Paul. Think this could be all a linkage problem and not transmission? Just a thought. Anything out of adjustment is not good on working machinery. Thoughts on Lockar...my personal $.02, not stock, but very impressive. Ms Cruiser sports them.

Subject: RE: Throttle Kickdown Linkage

Speaking of which, the first thing I need to do when I get my car out of
the museum this spring is pull the transmission. I lost 2nd gear
driving it over there last fall. More on that later. My transmission
has a reverse pattern manual valve body in it and I'm thinking about
replacing it with a regular valve body. So I will need the kickdown rod
as well and I will use the resources that have been listed. What I'm
wondering is, does anyone have a picture of the intake bracket. I'm
pretty sure I have part of, if not all of it but would like to find out
for sure.
Now back to my 2nd gear thing. My transmission linkage was slightly out
of adjustment and would sometimes not make the shift from 2nd to 3rd.
When that happened I would punch the 2nd gear button again and then give
the 3rd gear button a good solid push and it would then shift. So, did
I kill 2nd gear by having it a bit out of adjustment?

Does anyone have or know where I can get an oem kickdown linkage for my
64 Sport Fury B Body with a 383, 4bbl, A727 Torqueflite? I need botht
the kickdown rod and the bracket that mounts on the back of the intake
manifold, that holds the kickdown rod and the throttle cable..
