I probably gained 3 tenths and 1 to 2 mph but it sure got louder. The only ticket I ever received for noise was with my 59 Impala. (Hated that car!!!) Oooops I forgot the time we were cruising the local drive ins and someone talked me into uncapping my headers on my 65 Coronet 440 4 speed with the 462 street wedge and I pulled out and lit my tires up. Unfortunately the local police were hidden behind a building close to the Big Boy. If I had pulled over and put my header caps back on I would have only gotten a noise ticket but stupid me, I listened to my best friend and loped out of town and when I hit the city limits the lights came on but it was too late...Dropped it down to 2 nd and left them in the dust. Stupid me forgot that the cops can write down a license plate number. But even stupider is to go back into town an hour later. Almost got jail time out of that. In 1965 a $150 fine was equal to close to 2 weeks pay. Luckily I got to pay it off in installments. My pregnant wife in court probably kept me from going to jail. Oh!!! another stupid thing to do is when the police stop you and say hey we couldn't get the radar gun on you fast enough, so tell me buddy how fast did you get this thing up to....Quote..." I don't know for sure but my buddy told me that I had the needle way past 120"....
