Late Model 318 Question

This is off of the 62 to 65 Mopar but it is Mopar.

I have a chance to get a 1991 Dodge Dakota 4WD Auto with a 318 extremely 
cheap.

The truck is in nice shape but not running, computer and wiring totally 
screwed up.

Can I change intakes, put a carb on it and standard electronic 
distributor and have a decent running engine.

If I thought I could get it running it would be a fun truck.
