RE: Break-in Additive Recommendations?





ZDDP additive is fine. Just add to some 30w oil along with the assembly lube. Good to go.
Also, "Penns Best" has a 30w break in oil with zinc added. Penns Best is the old Kendall Oil
Refinery in PA. These geologically older, "green" oils (like the old original Quaker State, Wolfs Head, Pennzoil, etc.)
are still very good all around petroleum products, especially for initial break-in.
No chemical engineer here, but I would suppose the new synthetics with zinc additive are probably the way to go after your
first 500-1000 miles.
