Wheel Studs - Oversized Knurl ??

I've heard it both ways. One of our forum members has had your good fortune, tapped teh stud and they came right out. I damaged a hub pounding out what were swedged studs and have since spot welded the new right hand studs in to keep them from spinning out. I cut a pie shaped wedge out of a spare hub I have and can clearly see the swedge. I think at this point that different processes were used at different plants or during different times in 64.

I must have gotten really lucky.  When I first got my '64, I found that there was one lone righty on the left front.  I actually had a spare lefty (brand new) in my tool box from when I put new studs on my '70 GTX 25+ years ago.  I was able to tap out the righty with no trouble and the lefty went right in nicely.  Dumb luck?
