Re: Joe Lemire 8 3/4 Diff.

Hi Nick,

I lived in the Hartford / East Hartford area for many years, I moved here to Indiana in 1989 to work for John Lingenfelter on a Bonneville project and then just stayed here after that. I don't know if you know Gordon Sime, he was a pretty active racer at Conn dragway, at any rate, I recently spoke with him and he mentioned hanging out on the turnpike on Saturday nights with his sons. I understand the turnpike gets quite a crowd, when I left the cops were busting everyone so the racing died out.

I wonder which Burger King that is, years ago one of the guys from East Hartford put an old pro stock Vega on the street powered by a blown big block Chevy, it was quite the attention getter to say the least. One night he and I cruised into a Burger King and backed into a space to park when a Berlin cop pulled up in front of us and said that he knew that car wasn't nowhere near legal and that we needed to get the hell out of there like right now, being as that we also of course knew it wasn't legal we didn't need to be told twice,LOL

I plan on visiting the turnpike next summer after my spring semester is over, usually I run back to central Conn to see some old dear friends and then drive down to New Jersey to visit Jerry Stein on the way back to Indiana.

I will let you know when I go back next, it would be great to meet up.

Joey
