You can use your stock converter and the stock 904 transmission but there are 2 things to check;
1) check the snout of the TC. If its the small 65/earlier type, you'll need and adapter ring (bushing) for the larger size crank bore. 2) you can also use that neutral TC IF you get the TCI special "balanced" 360 flexplate for a 904 trans. They also have a balanced flexplate for 727.

The converter for the 360 balance has a larger input shaft than the present converter. The converter will fit but the car will not move! That said it is a simple fix, just replace the old pump and input shaft with a newer one from a 727. You'll definitely have to swap the oil pan (truck/van is rear sump) and use the oil pickup for the center sump. You'll also need a car 360 oil pan - 273/318/340 pans won't fit the 360. It has been slightly refreshed and best of all, it is free. It will be a temp engine swap till I can save up money to restore. I want to enjoy driving the car some. Will this swap work? What heads up can you give me, on things that will not work (oil pan, exhaust manifolds, fit my 727, etc.)?
