hello gang, I have drilled th pilot hole for clearance only on assembled engines. Put a gm lage diameter bushing in the recess in the crank and use the pilot hole as a drill bushing and go! Use a drill with enough power to drive the drill bit and the drilled hole needs to be largr than the rans pilot. Dorman brand oilite bushings work best.Find a part store or machine shop with a selection of bushings for choices. --- On Mon, 7/26/10, MO ( Steve Mick) <micher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> wrote: > From: MO ( Steve Mick) <micher@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> > Subject: 440 crankshaft > To: 1962to1965mopars@xxxxxxxxxx > Date: Monday, July 26, 2010, 12:28 AM > > I have a complete assembled 440 engine that does not have > the pilot hole for a 4 speed input shaft. > I know you can get the sealed roller bearing to make > it work, but I think the input shaft end needs to be cut > off.
