Most driveshaft shops can make you up a driveshaft with the required
slip-joint - seems like someone had posted the part numbers on here for
the
B&T swap a while back but I can't find it (I usually cut-n-paste stuff
like
that and file it away but can't find it now, grrrr). Anyway it's the same
setup with a u-loint yoke on the front instead of the B&T flange.

My '65 has a splined tailshaft with the front u-joint (Not B&T) bolted to
it. The yoke splines onto the tailshaft, and a bolt goes in through it
into
the center of the tailshaft. This driveshaft is two piece with a rubber
mounted bearing in the middle. I'm guessing the front yoke is bolted on
to
stabilize that two piece driveshaft. I haven't tried slipping a standard
yoke on there to see if it works.

I thought it was 1965. See the picture here for the 1960 to 1964 Imperial
version.
http://www.naimy.net/forsale/1960_imperial_2_pc_drive_shaft.htm
The picture shows a two piece but with a B&T. The two piece 1965
driveshaft had a regular u-joint up front instead of the B&T iirc.
Anyway, yup, the trans itself if a good ol' TorqueFlite and modifiable.
Thanks,
Gary H.

driveshaft with a splined joint in it like a 4x4 uses, or disassemble it
and
replace the mainshaft and tailshaft housing.
