I'm a firm believer that a hotter spark and multiple spark discharge
WILL help performance. Granted I've never owned a race car or anything
close to it, but when I have done ignition upgrades to vehivles, there
was a noticeable difference. Even adding MSD and a hotter coil to a
modern vehicle will be an improvement. Case in point-I had a 98
Dakota, 5.2L, 5-spd, 3.55. I added an MSD and an accel super coil to
the system and it DEFINITELY had more power. Certainly wasn't worth 2
sec in the 1/4 but the improvement was there. Same thing when I
upgraded the ignition in my Coronet-Pertronix + hotter coil=noticeable
improvement.
