Are you sure it is a connected "P" bracket? That is, sometimes I've seen a bracket that looks like a P but one side of the P letter's loop is not connected to the straight part, so the loop actually can be pulled open.

I am trying to remove the underdash wireing harness on my 64 Dodge
440--On each side of the steering colunm there is a bracket standing up
from near the bottom edge of the dash ( about 2" long. It looks like a P with the harness going thrugh the loop in the top of the P. How do I get the harness loose from that loop or take the brachet off the dash? Thanks
