I think you need to go to a different shop.  I have had my 63 Sport Fury
with a 383 and 4-speed Borge Warner and my 64 with a 318 poly and
automatic converted like shown in this link:

I don't recall the cost but I can say it was very reasonable.  These are
off of the shelf parts any good drive shaft shop can get.
