In our area we do what they call a 50/50 drawing. Get a roll or two of carnival tickets (With Matching Stubs) and have members sell them to the crowd for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00 and at the end of the night have a Kid or a nice looking Female pick a winner from a container containing all the matching stubs from the ticket sales. The club or group splits the pot with the winner, hence $100.00 pot, winner gets $50.00 & club gets $50.00. Depending on the size of the get-together pots pay out $50.00 to $500.00 or more. A nice addition is have locale businesses donate small prizes like cups, coupons & cleaning supply's and such then keep pulling tickets and give the door prizes away. One note to club, try to keep members from buying tickets, it slows peoples ticket purchasing down if members seem to win a lot! One place I go members all have matching green T-shirts and a green shirt seems to win the pot & good door prizes all the time. Go figure! They wonder why no one buys many tickets at their shows any more. The not very motivated group thinks that a dance (which we literally make a few dollars with) is a good idea and I'm tired of this waste of time. We have 2 car shows each year that we do pretty well with, but it seems like a very few people end up doing all of the work. I'm looking for any ideas that anyone might have that might get people motivated about the club, and make some money to boot. We are non profit and donate quite a bit of our $ to local charities. Any suggestions you might have would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. -- Bill M - President, Sun City Cruisers 65 Coronet 500 'vert http://1962to1965mopar.ornocar.com/mmo62008.html 73 Dart Sport, 00 Cherokee Sport, 01 Dakota SLT 21 Model T Depot Hack, 92 Accord, 06 Mazda 3 ---- Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
