Regarding "patina", I get alot of remarks about how nice the patina on my valve covers looks. Now this is totally by accident but I sand blasted and repainted them with Dupli-color 1200deg high temp engine paint. Then I put decals on them that I got from Schyler. Then I decide to clear coat them to keep the decals protected. I used dulpi-color 600deg engine clear coat. After about 3 months the clear coat began to split and slide on the base paint. The results looks like a jig-saw puzzle patina. It might work again if you really want to have the patina look. Just a thought.
