Re: Rear ends

Thanks Mark...
I will log that info in a couple of unused brain cells and hope that the issue doesn't come back to haunt me.

Ollie,

Yes, you can swap the backing plates, etc. from your old to the new 65-70 rear.

Subject: Rear ends

Reading all our azle/rear end posts....
As you all know I am building my 65 Ply Satellite, Petty Stock Car.
I may have trouble with my present rear end. I disassebled it. It had burnt oil, a possibly bad azle bearing, and possibly a cracked case around the bearing housing. It physically looks and turns ok. I put new oil in, put it back together and hoping for the best when she gets road worthy.
If this rear end is bad...???? I go to to my local Mopar junk yard......
I am looking for a 65 to 70 B Body rear end? Care nothing about ratio's, sure grip, etc...... Can I change the backing plates, keep all my new brakes, drums and hit the road?
Ollie
