The nut is dished so you could use like a spanner wrench on the inside of the nut. I built one for a similar situation using 5/16" steel tubing. Cut off about a 16" piece. Bend it in a U shape. Cruch the ends in a vise in the right orientation to fit inside the nut. Then spread the ends to fit tight against the sides and bend a 90deg near the end so you have room and leverage to work it. I think it'll work if you can understand what I said???? Same could be done with a chunk of narrow 1' to 2" flat steel about 3/16" thick. You can grind out a notch to fit the interior. Sticking a screwdriver or punch against it to give it a couple licks to loosen it may help too.
