Working in the shop today on the Petty Stock Car. The wife really got me tickled good. She loves old cars, our web site and reads all the mails. She is a pretty fair mechanic and knows her vehicles. Everybody has been talking about how our cars drive and she loved the comment "don't remember my new 65 Ply driving like that" Her rambling was...back then we drove on alot of gravel roads, no interstate, curvy 2 lane road at 45 mph, no stop lights. If we hit 70 we were flying low. Everybody is now used to rack and pinion, radial tuned suspensions, disc brakes, self adjusting this and that, vehicles that last 250K miles.... When she said you got remember were playing with our 45 year old "cash for clunkers" I about lost it !!! She is just trying to get down the road in real style in her 65 Satellite. Going 45 mph is fast enough...they get to look at her fine ride longer. Keep up the spirit!!
