Exactly what I experienced in the mid to late '60s with my original '64
Dodge Polara 500. The station was KOMA, Wolf Man Jack was on it too, first I
had ever heard of him, it was the coolest station in the nation. It had
the biggest, baddest transmitter in the nation too.

me some real insight. I have a working AM 220 radio in one of my 64 Sport
Furys, was struggling with how to get some sound out of it. Back in 1964, I
lived in rural Nevada. At night, we'd get skip transmissions from a radio
staion in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, about 1200 miles away. Only rock station
we could receive out in the desert. It was strong from about 6PM to
midnite. I'm sure you all have similar experiences. Now.....I have a sirius
portable unit and can use it in my Sport Fury when on the road. How cool is
that???
