I took my springs to Inland Truck and they redid them for me. They alsoadded a leaf and my cost was $177.FWIW my step-son said he'd be glad to help us and George has volunteeredtoo. We don't have a press but I just took mine over to Midas a couple blocks away and they pressed the bushings pretty cheap. I did some searching onthe Internet and can't find a price for new or refurbished, so I don'tknow what to think of that. Joe Lemire wrote:$2000, seriously? it's a big job but can certainly be done at home by anaverage mechanic. I would recommend buying the front end kit from Bill Rolick ent., he's a long time SS racer turned repro parts peddler whosellsa good quailty kit. Some of those suspension kits on the market todayleavea lot to be desired. Do you have anyone near you, a club or somethingwhere they could walk you through it. It's not hard but does take some thinkingand definitely some muscle, pretty much you unbolt and clean the partsandtake them to a machine shop to press in new bushings if you don't have apress. What the heck are they going to replace in the rear for $1000?,Maybelabor rates are getting away from me,HA, I just can't justify some ofthem. I found a rebuild kit for the front-end (at Kanter.com) for $236 includes ball joints, bushings, etcso should I just leave my car parked until I can raise the money and have a pro do it? or is a front suspension rebuild doable for a guy withno experience? ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person --directly to that person.
