Well today I went out and checked the compression in the cylinders #1 185# #2 180# #3 180# #4 190# #5 180# #6 160# #7 165# #8 170# I didn't see any major difference between cylinders. When I had all the spark plugs out I did notice that when I cranked the motor over it just sounded as smooth. This is probably why I didn't notice anything when I put the motor together. I then put a plug in only one cylinder at a time and now I can hear the same noise that I heard before. I did this to all the cylinders with one plug installed and the sound was the same! Soooo now I put all the plugs back in and cranked the motor and it sounds the same as with any plug in any one of the cylinders by itself! I do hope this makes sense to everyone. Now I'm starting to wonder if I chasing a noise that is just a sound that this motor has normally. I did notice one other thing, that while I was doing these checks and cranking the motor, now my starter sounds more like a whine when running! Darn if I know!!!!
