Been working on the wiring and interior installation of my '64 330 and I've come across some seeming connections. I swapped out heater pushbutton control for one accquired off EBAY that looked as if it might work. Right number of buttons, nipples intact, so far so good.... The thing has electrical hook-up terminals on the back side. Kinda remember it looking as if it would have three female connectors attached to it maybe. I attempted to rebuild the nipples on one I had for my '63 Belvedere and actually opened one of these things up...it's a box with a sliding piece of plastic in it controled by vacuum; so where does the electrical part come in? Illumination for the buttons? I can't seem to find any connectors on my harness that look as if they should attach to this piece, should something be fabbed up and spliced-in? If so does anybody have a formula/idea as to how I need to do this? If it's only lighting I can live without it, if it makes something work the control it's gotta get fixed. While on the same topic, The cable that runs from the temperature control slider down to the top upper left side of the heater box appears to opperate a small single wired device. Is this a rheostat or potentiometer that controls a thermostat ot is it a flapper valve in the heater core line? This thing moves freely by hand with nearly no resistance at all. If it's shot but the heater core doesn't leak, is there some way to rig-up some functionality? My '63 Belvedere's heater never worked and the core leaked so I just froze in it or left it parked, like to get this one to work even if it ain't pretty... the car's basically a rat rod so any assistance on this would be greatly appreciated.... thanks in advance to all who respond.
