Richard, I think that is your problem is your getting soft driving these late model plastic cars....lol
My LS1 powered VX Commodore with a cam and exhaust will do 10 litres per hundred real easy on a trip from Melbourne to Adelaide.
Not sure if you remember, but April last year i went to the barossa Valley (Turunda) with the Cadillac Car Club, and my 472 ci Cadillac went through quite a bit of petrol, but i dont want to know how much....lol I had to fill 3 times each way i think, but each stop was about 45 to 50 litres as i did not want to take any chances with the fuel guage, even though the fuel tank is meant to hold 110 litres.
Just enjoy these old cars while we can, and the car clubs im in are great fun with lots of good people.

thanks for the replies. guess because i drive the car so rarely these days i've forgotten how much gas they go thru., especially compared to new cars. my girlfriend drove adelaide to melb., last week in a falcon wagon & didnt have to fill up till half way between ballarat & melb [7oo km] on a tank. me in my dodge i cant even drive out of the state without filling up lol.it was a good drive though. still going to start monitoring my milage & maybe less flooring it, we'll see. thanks richard [oz][Non-text portions of this message have been removed] ----Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person.
