RE: Rear-end gear ratios

Mundane ????????? That 383 is rated at 305hp. I drove my folks '63
Station wagon with that engine and it was a killer. Lot's of fun. My '64
383 4 bbl was more fun though. The 3:23 was a very standard ratio back
then for the Mopars. My stock rear-end in my '64 Polara was a 2:73. It
was marked right on the diff.. I bet you have it on your diff somewhere.
Sometimes they had tags on a bolt too. You can always count revolutions
too to get in the ballpark. I think they had 2:73, 2:96 and 3:23. I
believe it should be one of those.

Please address private mail -- mail of interest to only one person -- directly to that person. I.e., send parts/car transactions and negotiations as well as other personal messages only to the intended recipient, not to the Clubhouse public address. This practice will protect your privacy, reduce the total volume of mail and fine tune the content signal to Mopar topic. Thanks!
